Hello all - I have a maroon clownfish with a really weird white spot on his tail. (the smaller brighter one) It looks like another marking like the stripe on this tail but it has very recently shown up. This is not the best picture it was just very hard to capture. It is almost only on that side but there is a super tiny one on the exact same place on the other side of his tail too. I really don't think that it is ich or velvet or anything like that. These two both went through a QT tank process and are the only fish in the tank. He is super healthy otherwise. The girl can be a bit bossy so not sure if could be a bite mark but they are very happy she isn't super aggressive towards him. It really does almost look like more of white marking but nothing I read made it seem like clownfish ever get more markings like that. It hasn't been there for long. Is it a chance it's some sort of parasite since I can see a smaller white speck on the same side on the other side? Would a freshwater dip be a course of action? Again he is super healthy and happy I don't know that its anything crazy its just been there now for a few days so I don't want it to become an issue if there is something I should do... Thank you!!

I wouldn’t worry about a single spot like that. It could just be a bit of mucus from a minor injury.

More worrisome would be if the spot grows larger, or more spots develop, so you’ll want keep a close eye on it for a few weeks.
