I have at least 5 old phones and an equal number of tablets dating to the old Cruz tablet not to mention old laptops and PC's , surely someone has probe I/O interfaces.

You beat me to this! I was going to post a link to the androidpolice article. I'm really curious to see where this goes. I think it would be a great way to utilize older tablets since you can have the display act as a live graphing screen for various input. Plus, who doesn't love a touch screen!
