Smartest fish?

They definitely do problem solving tasks.
I've been a free diver since I was a kid and witnessed a lot of strange activities fish would do. Not instinctively, but more complex. But turtles did way more than the fish did.
I used to dive on the north west coast of Oahu, the same beach they shot the show Lost on. It's called Mokuleia, and the spot is across Dillingham Airfield. There's a ton of green sea turtles there, so there's tiger sharks as well. They eat turtles. A bunch of times I would have a turtle follow my around. They know I'm fishing because of the spear gun. We don't let the sharks mess with us because they'll eat out catch. So the turtles are safe around us, but they spook the fish too.
Also, I could easily slip into a school of fish if I'm hiding my gun. As soon as I bring it out, the fish move away.
