Looks like I've acquired a couple of coral boring barnacles.

Anyway, Should I leave them be (Pass) or murder them (SMASH)? I'm not too concerned with them, but was curious about what ya'll would do!?

I think since its still a frag, you can leave them. smashing them will also smash the encrusted portion of the acro and if you dont take them out they will rot near or in the acro which can tick it off more.

I would probably pass with the knowledge that most barnacles don't make it in aquaria, so they're not going to become an epidemic. Someone feel free to correct me if that's not the case.

They've grown significantly since I added the frag. Didn't even notice them for weeks. We'll see. But I have had other barnacles that didn't make it long others that did. As these are coral borers my assu.ption is that they'll be eating a lot of the same stuff coral eats. Wouldn't surprise me if they last longer than the average barnacle.

I would pass, and I have little self control when it comes to acropora. Currently I am looking to murder yet another Palmers Blue Millipora.
