Smirky's Reefer 450

I picked up "new" lights last week. Moved from 6 bulb sunpower to 8 bulb. Since then I've updated my light combo about 5 times. But I think I finally found the right combo. I've never run it before, I'll see how the coral responds.

A few losses to announce. Rip, bartletts anthias and ruby headed wrasse..... Music:"It's soo hard to say goodbye, to yesterday. " Those guys managed to find the only escape route on my tank. They jumped out of the feeding area for automatic feeder.

Also lost a "blue matrix" via coral combat. Montipora undata wins.

Sorry.. :( Always stinks to lose anything!

I've been really lazy when it comes to pictures and videos. Here's some lazy pictures (no editing, just wb). Tank has been doing okay. A few weeks I got around to testing my calcium and received a big shocker.... 290! Oops, so much for not testing calcium.

Looks awesome!!

It kind of looks like tank..

It looks awesome!

Thank you, I can always count on you.

Here's a quick update on the tank. The tank has been on autopilot, borderline neglect over the last few months. My workload has picked up and it's been really hard to find the energy for everything. I have managed to add two new fish, chalk basses, to replace the ones that jumped. They are so small and only come out to eat. I am hoping that they come out more once they grow some. The coral continues to grow, but unfortunately I burnt the tips on one in my period of neglect. Color is okay to improving. I will continue on with my unorthodox bulb combo of 4 coral plus, 3 actinic, and 1 blue plus.

Yes looks good!

Thanks! I got tired of having a frag rack in my tank, so I sold all the frags and took what was left to the lfs.

And with my store credit + some extra $$ picked up a rhomboid wrasse. Next up, a feminus wrasse :-)

Merry Christmas to me! Skimmer finally arrived last Monday. I wasn't sure an 8 inch skimmer would work. I guess I know the answer....... I plugged it in for the first time just 7 days ago.
