There are a few different verities in the hobby, I'm no expert on them so narrowing it down is something I won't be able to do how ever this 2 seam to be the most common ones found in the hobby Strombus spp

Awesome thanks I needed something to help with diatoms the guy at lfs called them something else altho I can't remember what he said I know it wasn't fighting conch and just wanted to make sure as when I looked on net that's what came up thanks for clarifying they are super cool

nche excuse my ignorance I've only just got into salt water after a life of fresh water
The common name they are sold under is "Fighting Tiger Conchs" or some combination of that. Which is kind of a misnomer because they don't really fight. I'm not sure of the specific species but they are of the Strombus genus.
