Snails

I am wondering if the snails can eat/nibble on the rocks? I have noticed that there are bare spots on the rock where the snails have been..being a noob, I have some odd questions..thanks for putting up with me.

Is that coraline or paint or what ever they use?

If that is “life rock” then yes. It will eventually be replaced and covered with coralline algae.

looks like paint that was used on life rock I am using..not sure why its painted.
