Snorkeling in Guam and Hawaii

OK now for a few from Hawaii. These were taken with a Nikon cool pics point and shoot with an underwater housing. But the bad thing is that the surf was MUCH rougher in Hawaii so the sand was always stirred up and the pics are not very clear. Also to get to the better reefs you have to get on a snorkel charter or be a really good swimmer. Most of the corals I found were in about 10-30 feet of water. All of these were taken on the leeward side the first ones were taken at Yokohama (sp?) beach and the next few were taken around the power plant.

HAHA! Check out the shimmer lines the Halides are putting out!! LOL! Those triggers were very curious!

I have one question though, wheere would one put on his hang on skimmer?

This next set are the ones taken at the power plant the water was pretty deep here and the sand didn't stir up as much so they are a little clearer but it was overcast that day so the pictures are a little dark.

Thanks! I do too. I have a lot more of the turtles and other stuff there that are MUCH better than the underwater stuff.

Love the clams in the rocks! I bet you some of those brown sticks would color up nicely under some actinics.

If you look real close you can see an Orange shoulder tang in the bottom right of this one. The water here was about 20 feet deep

dude those pictures are sick! the one of the humma humma is a great shot! did the corals have good color but the camera couldnt bring them out? Was that the only clam you found? Very cool dude

Thanks man! No most of the corals were either brown/olive green or yellow. There were some pink/purple ones but they were few and far between in the bay. Hawaii had some more colorful ones but I had to get WAAAY out. The day I got to go snorkeling in Hawaii the currents were strong and I didn't bring my flippers and wasn't comfortable going too far out with out them!

Thanks everyone! Guam was by far my favorite! I am bummed that I didn't get a chance to go back this year. I need to save up for a vacation over there...
