I shared a couple of my pictures in another forum and was asked to start a thread with some more of my snorkeling pictures. I have the pleasure of having a job that allows me to travel around the world and sometimes I get to go to some really cool places. Guam is by far my favorite place to snorkel. I heard the diving there is absolutely AMAZING also but I am not SCUBA certified as of yet so I didn't get to go. Maybe next time....Any way This first set of pictures came from Tumon Bay Guam and all were taken with a crappy underwater disposable camera. So the pictures are not the best. I do hope you enjoy them though.

The cool thing about this place was that the bay/lagoon was a hard bottom reef structure. It didn't have much sand to speak of and there were cucumbers EVERYWHERE!! I got about 100 or so yards from the beach and could still stand up and be out of the water! I think the deepest place I found was at high tide and it was about 8-10 feet.

Nice photos man. My dream vacation, even before getting into this hobby, has always been to snorkel or dive in the great barrier reef. I almost planned a trip to the FL keys, but we decided not to last minute. Glad you have the opportunity to experience this, as not many people get to.

Thank you! I a very blessed to have a job like I do. I get to see and do many things most people can't do because of my job. I think one of the reasons I have really gotten into photography is to share some of the places I have been with people who may never get the chance to see them.

What do you do for a living Dave? My younger brother was in Guam for a little while during his Air Force tour. He got to play in the jungle and stuff, but I don't think he went snorkeling.

This is just to show how shallow the water is. We were about 80 yards out.

I am a contractor for the Army. I run functional tests on various weapons systems. We were actually stopped in Guam to re-fuel but the plane broke down and got "stuck" there for 3 weeks:xd:

Next time go on the far side of the wave break and you will hit deeper water and see a ton more coral and fish species. It looks like your not far enough out in the pictures. Reminds me a lot of fiji when I was there.

HAHA, that sounds exactly like my brothers situation. They were on their way to Guam, and broke down in Hawaii. No room left on base, so they put them in hotels one block from the beach.

Thanks! Yeah it was a throw away and I guess the pictures did come out better than I expected. I'm not sure what that coral head is. The polyp structure reminded me of some type of encrusting porites. It was about 5 feet across.
