So... I have a dream. A dream of so, so many anemones. Currently I’ve got a CSB, a RBTA, and 5 rock flowers in the same tank... but I want more. I’m thinking about adding a carpet and some mini-maxi nems. The tank is a 45 gallon lagoon. Here’s a pic of it right now. (Most of the rock work is easily removeable).

I’m just wondering if this is a safe thing to do? I’m wanting a mandarin (WAY down the line) and some coral croucher gobies and I’m worried that they will get injured by all the anemones at some point? Will the anemones even coexist happily? Thanks y’all for the input :)

If they decide to stay small like I see in the picture, you will be alright. I have had a Rbta since last November of last year In a 29 biocube. It has already Split once and is about to split again. This tank has only 3 fish, 2 clowns and a yellow Coria wrasse that swims very cautiously. I had recordias and zoanthids before I got the RBTA, but not any more. Haven’t added any more corals to the tank. How long have you had that many anemones?

I'd say go for it. You already had surpassed the biggest risk with the CSB and RBTA.

I’ve had the bubble tips together for a month or two now. Not very long at all. Just added in the RFA yesterday

Look at all the nem addicts over here :p
(Following to live vicariously through your collections)
IK! Im really trying to be a nem keeper people can be envious of! My LFS keeps carpets and BTA together so I think that’ll be okay, now my main concern is how my fish will do with them considering they are slow moving. Has nobody kept a mandarin with a carpet?

THANKS!!! That’s good to hear. I’m planning on a psychadelic (target, sported, whatever the white one with the swirlies) and possibly a ruby red but only if I have 2 fuges and I feel like my tank can responsibly handle that many. They will be captive bred. I’m planning on getting my nem from Galactic Corals (they are my LFS, known for their killer nems). I’m thinking about one of those red-rainbow ones or possibly a blue one but it’d have to be BLUE and that’s not a very common nem which means it’s super expensive

I think it is a Picasso onyx clownfish? My mandarins also a target mandarin and captive bred and has been growing fat and healthy in this tank so I think a 45 gallon with fuges is plentiful

Are you running a fuge or just supplementing copepods?

Neither, just been feeding phytoplankton for the past 8 months that pic was about a month ago and since then I've acquired a lot more NPS corals and feed them phyto regularly. I actually don't even feed my mandarin, eventually he's going in a 250 so he'll have plenty more to eat

I kind of think that's a lot of nems in a not very big tank. Especially when long term nems are known to split and reproduce. I would also worry about nems of different kinds wondering around and touching each other. My understanding of carpet nems also is that they are a mixed bag. Some do just fine and are model citizens, and others are just killers.

Wow okay good to know! I was gonna run a regular fuge with cheato and dose phyto+ pods for a few months prior to the introduction of the mandarin. The sump on this baby is huge so I think there’ll be plenty of cheato and room for the pods to properly multiply. There’s also a lot of rock refuge for them so the mandarin can’t eat them all and they have a chance to breed in the DT.

Following along as I too have the same dream. I currently have 5 RBTA and a RFA. I would love one day to switch the tank over to a Anemone/Clown harem tank, although at the rate the BTAs are splitting they are making that reality come sooner rather than later. I currently have a mandarin and he ignores the BTAs.
