Just a follow up… still playing with mine but I have pretty much moved from the AB+ to Radiant color. That template is a little easier to work with and tweak as it has far more preprogrammed points. Pretty good morning and daytime with more white midday and I was able to kind of get the evening periods more to my liking. The default evening periods just get too dark too fast.

the AB+ program on the G5s is all channels 100% and schedule ( power) is at 50%... does anyone have the schedule ( power ) set any higher?

So honest question for all of you with the G5s. If you were someone who liked the G4+diffuser look...would you need to get diffusers for the G5s too as I see diffusers for G5 are comming soon.

no need for diffusors on the G5 blues...i cant speak for the pro version

Agree- the color is really uniform and theres no disco ball effect. IMO you don’t need a diffuser.

In all honesty, there’s very little shimmer compared to the other models, almost t5 like. It kinda makes the tank lose alot of “movement”. Then again I was switching from kessil a360xs which has oodles of shimmer.

I just tested the G5 Blue again @ 100% all channels and it looks very white to me. More like 12-14k. I really hope they need to fine tune the templates, not liking the color at 100% all channels. Also, lots of creaking from the plastic with sunrise to sunset due to temp of led’s.

If I use the AB+ Template on my G5 Pro's It turns all Blue's, UV to 100%, all other color channels to 0%. It's very blue.

That doesn't sound like AB+... wonder if it's a programming issue... or if it's user error...

I’m running mine AB+ at 65% power currently and things seem to be thriving. Close to 300 par at the top of the rocks and 100-150 at the sand.

Going to continue monitoring as the par is a bit high, but didn’t seem to be thriving at 50% power with 200 par at the top of rocks and 70 par at the sand.

Hello, reviving an old thread, need help:/
I am having a problem with some coral bleaching (Monti plate, birdnest)
Lights are 8 inches over water surface.
3 radion gen 5 XR 30 Pro over a 180g.
I started with the radiant program at 50% from start to finish about 12 hours, meaning about 4 hours at peak.
After I saw coral bleaching I took it down to 35%... no improvement
I changed to AB+ at 30-35 % (overall intensity on graph at or below 30%)

I am at a loss here... Softies are fine, LPS is ok on sand bed.

Can you please help me by providing:
Mounting height
Schedule intensity (assuming 100% program in the template)
Photoperiod

I’m getting fast noticeable growth on the sps with xr15 pro with phx14 template, So far so good.

I came from probably the best light you can own (8 bulb ATI Hybrid) and I’m glad I upgraded. Great coverage, color blending and color. The G5’s mimic the LED/ T5 look but obviously with shading.
Worth the upgrade from G4? Yes.
Although G4/T5 is better than a G5 by itself.

How it ur growth compared to the 8bulb t5?

Currently I just have lps and softies in frag tank. Had to make a few changes to frag tank lately. Some of the man made dry rock I used when I first started the tank started leaching alk into the aquarium. So I had to remove that stuff to keep Alk from rising. Really like the lights.
