I don't *expect* they went to breeders, but I certainly hope so. I imagine making a cool couple thousand on any babies must be highly attractive...maybe that will work in the angels' favor.

Guaranteed they went to some high rollers basement, if they went to an actual public aquarium they wouldn't have even been listed and would have been sold already before being caught...sad!

i would have to agree with you on this to a point.... they are very nice but not 20 grand good but i could see myself spending a few hundred on this one but i do not see the asking pricing going in to the 20's or even 30 thousands.

Spend the money to make the dive even possible, train and prepare for years for it (or don't to lessen your costs then really tell us how it worked out lol), dive deep enough to get one and then tell us if you still think it should be a few hundred...... FWIW super experienced divers have died from dive related injuries at similar and even shallower depths.

Agreed. When he dives those depths, he only has a few minutes to catch things then decompresses for 8 hours coming up. Any mistakes and you're done.

whats sad is that beautiful fish will end up dying in someones tank. Something that pretty and rare i think should just be left alone.

What a silly statement. As far as I can tell, there were 2-3 caught many years ago and are still alive, the most notable in a public aquarium located in Hawaii. Pretty long lived and hardy. I also agree that they do not seem to be all that rare, just hard to get to. I'm hoping the rebreather crew start catching these more often so they get more into the 3-6 thousand dollar range.
