The grade is important, you don't want a product that has a lot of other material in it. Here is a likely link:

I’ve used stump remover for a long time without issue, probably the lowest purity you can get. I did filter through a .45um before use however.

Anything “graded” is fine

Shows instock on their website. I usually order from them direct.
Looks like I ordered potassium nitrate last time. Price has gone up, not surprising I suppose.

I tried this today. Shows in stock until you try and check out??? Maybe they didn't have 4 available as this is what I tried to order?

Looking on Amazon for food grade Sodium Nitrate and I only see Modernist Pantry 14 oz size for $34.99.

Is this about what others are paying or are there other food grade options I'm missing?

I'm currently using ESV Nitrate from BRS. Anyone have a ratio of their dry product to water and how much it increases NO3?

Thanks for any insight!

Calcium nitrate is a good choice:

I'm not sure I understand your last question. Are you asking how potent the ESV product is?

This us what I use when needed. It has gone up. It was $26 a year ago. They have a smaller package that is 50 grams for $10 if you don't need a lot.

Their bottle says it is Calcium Nitrate and that 1ml/20 gals. of aquarium water adds 1 ppm nitrate

The only Calcium Nitrate Loudwolf had was CALCIUM NITRATE(Ca(NO3)2·4H2O which is what I use. If you work that back theirs is 144 grams/ Liter if they used the Calcium Nitrate Tetrahydrate

@KStatefan answered it...What I meant was does anyone have a ratio (powder to water) of what they are using (calcium nitrate or sodium nitrate) and the relative potency. Example, for ESV it is: 1ml/20 gals. of aquarium water adds 1 ppm nitrate.

Stick to food grade. In a pinch Loudwolf seems OK.

For sodium nitrate, I recommend this calculator and the entry for nitrate from potassium nitrate. It is close enough.

I'm trying to dose phosphates and nitrates to maintain daily consumption. I have sodium Loudwolf nitrate and potassium phosphate. Would love to know the formula to soften the wallet

Not sure what formula you want.

If you know what amount of nitrate (2 ppm per day seems a reasonable starting point) and phosphate (0.02 ppm per day seems a reasonable starting point) you want to try starting to dose, put some numbers into the calculator to get a dosing solution you like.
