Hi everyone,
I wanna jump to topic directly as it makes me pretty sad.
Summary
My naso fish had some flukes and for that I have decided to use praziquantel. I followed 2.5 mg/L. However after 3-4 days my soft corals started to loose their colour and theyre laying down.
lets get into details.
After I saw first flukes, I did a fw dip for naso tang. Following that 2 days later ich showed up in a tank. I decided to do managing with it because I couldn’t catch my fishes. Which worked well so far I lost only 1 fish out of 20. However, feeding heavy led my phospate to go around 0.30 ppm. When I realized I added some bacteria fritz monster 460 to lower my phospate in long term. Also added gfo. It worked well that my phos dropped up to 0.12 ppm in 4 days. Then I decided to apply prazi treatment 1 week ago. I followed 2.5 mg/L as I have wrasses in my tank. Run skimmer without cup for aeoration . As soon as I doses my xenia corals started to lay down but after a day they were all fine. All the corals and fishes were happy. I added carbon filter 24 hours after in to sump. And about 30 hours later I started to have a bacterial bloom. On third day bloom was really high. Till that still all corals were fine. But with bloom, my phostate dropped up to 0.01 ppm. Starting from 4th day my soft corals which are xenia, zoas, mushrooms, polyps, kenya tree coral they all shrinked and started loosing their colour. My leather corals, BTA, LPS, star polyps corals seems fine, duncan coral also shrinked. Some mushrooms and polyps already lost colour. On 5th day I changed the carbon with a new one. 6th day did %25 water change. And still seems my softies are suffering from smth.
Also realized that after bloom my nitrate is decreased a lot to 1 ppm. Normally 5ppm.
my parameters are;
kH : 9.6
Ca; 430
Mg ; 1320
No3: 1 ppm
Po4: 0.23 ppm. Fluctuating since bacterial bloom
Any help I would be super appreciated.
