Hello All,

New here and to the hobby. I’m 10 full months into my 13G Nano Tank. Added some Pink Zippers awhile back and shortly after noticed these ‘things’ rapidly growing and covering my Zoa Garden and now they are starting to spread throughout my tank. They sort of look like feather dusters or something competing for space and light

They close up into tiny black dots when my light goes out. I’ve tried brushing them off with a soft toothbrush but they keep coming back. Any thoughts or suggestions? TIA

@thamnasteroid any idea?

Clove polyps are not something that is enjoyable to deal with. I would begin treating your tank for them now before they overrun your tank

It may be too late. It’s a 13G nano so that rock is probably 1/2 to 1/3 of the total scape in there 😬

My friend, I'm sorry to say you have a Sympodium infestation. Not clove polyps.

I've had one for the past 10 years. Their numbers shrink and grow over time, but I haven't been able to get rid of them. I have no clue why they sell this coral. It's arguably the worst IMO.

Thanks for the replies. Wondering how fenbendazole will affect my 13G. Seems risky.

I’m considering trying to salvage some of the Zoas and just replace the rock. Although it sounds like it might just grow back…if I don’t get every piece. I’m not even sure how this got into my tank.
