something on my birds net?????

so I've had this about 4 months now n over the last week it looks like the second pic.. the first is when I got it.. it almost looks like a spider web.... any help greatly helps!!! not sure if the coral is gone n I should pull it or........ thanks!!

Hmmm......can you get a better pic. Maybe a pic that is better in focus on the subject?
 
only way I can post pics is off my cell then I e-mail them to myself so I can get them on the comp..... like I said it almost looks like spider webs inside the coral... there is a few tubes around the base... my lights are out at moment.. i'll see what I can do tomarow... thanks
 
Most likely they are threads from vermitid snail. You mentioned a few tubes around the base. Is the thread coming from these tubes? If so, they are most definitely vermitid snails that are causing this.

ok so I pulled it........ you can see the tubes in the webbing (not sure what else to call it)
if any ideas i'm open..... I have it sitting in a bowl of tap water to see if anything comes out......
