Yes, it’ll be ok or you can manually remove it if you’d like but it’s not harming anything. So I can just leave it?
Thanks. I was considering removing the whole frag as I was told palys can be toxic. Which I didn’t know when I handled it.Yes, it’ll be ok or you can manually remove it if you’d like but it’s not harming anything.
Paly’s can be toxic but those look like zoas. Besides, I have a rock that has a bunch of paly’s on it. I’ve grazed them with the back of my hand before and have never gotten a reaction, of course I also don’t think I’m allergic to anything. From my understanding, they only release toxins when super stressed.Thanks. I was considering removing the whole frag as I was told palys can be toxic. Which I didn’t know when I handled it.
They were sold as red people eater palysThanks. I was considering removing the whole frag as I was told palys can be toxic. Which I didn’t know when I handled it.
Yep just going on what I was sold As mentioned earlier, it's a harmless pineapple sponge and those are zoanthus (zoas) and not palythoas.
Ok thanksZoas definitely a keep,if those are palyhoas they definitely grow like weeds
I get it, which is why books are your best friend in this hobby. When I started in this hobby we only had books and general names for corals, which were more descriptive and basic. I can't tell you how many times I've seen vendors or LFS misidentify corals or animals (and basic animals that anyone who's been in the hobby for a while should know). There are tons of great used books that you can buy now that can help you identify corals and reef animals, and they're fairly cheap considering.Yep just going on what I was sold
