Hi, I need help. My Midas blenny have some white things on one side. It looks like debris, but won’t come off. He’s acting normal, swimming, eating, no flashing or anything unusual. I can’t get better picture of him, he’s very active fish, constantly riding waves. I know his collor look like stress collor, but he have this collor since I get him 2 months ago, so no change there either. Spots definitely was not there few hours ago. What do you think it might be?

Spot are only on one side, right?
How long have you had this fish?

The spots aren't the right size to be a parasite of any sort. Detritus can really get stuck in a fish's mucus, and not come off easily. This could also be a scrape of some sort. I don't see any treatable issue at this point - just watch it.

I’m feeding half cube frozen mysis with algae pelets 3x/day. Think I can feed more, like cube each feeding, I have two bottomless wrasse and 4 more fish, but he seems like he is eating lot. But noticed, that he is only one not not getting fat.

Thanks a lot, that is very usefull information. I think, there is some kind of internal parasites involved with him, he’s only one in tank not getting weight and I can’t think of any other reason for his colour. Would it be enough if I just feed more? Or do I need to dose praziquantel?

Very inadequate diet. Add foods such as LRS fish frenzy, brine shrimp, chopped krill, plankton and flake food

Is he getting bullied during feeding maybe? And I don’t mean as in getting in fights in the tank. But pushed out of the way during feeding. Have seen it among my fish before. So I spot feed at times if that takes place.

I don’t think so, he does seem to eat lot of food. Still thin though.

I would feed more frequently to see if that helps. Praziquantel only treats one cause of internal parasites in fish (tapeworms) there are a number of other causes, but those are more difficult to treat.

Oh, ok. I read somewhere, that they should have also some algae in their diet. And he eats them :-D maybe another sign, that he needs more food.
