Little accident: We have been painting the bathroom vanity doors and needing some additional space to lay them out while they were drying, I used the breakfast area table. And of course I perched them up on top of coffee mugs, because, hey - why not?

The bottoms of the cabinet doors were dry. . . or so I thought. One must have been tacky and when I lifted the door panel up the mug stuck for a second, then released and KABLOOEY!

What if I just drape it with a tablecloth? :D

In all honesty it'd probably been better if the glass had sliced open a femoral artery and I bled out on the floor. We've had that table since we've been married. My wife's at volleyball practice with our daughter; I've already cleaned everything up and there's just empty space there.

Right now I'm banking on the "Table? What table?" strategy.

suspend a coffee mug and the center piece from the ceiling with fishing line so it looks like the table is still there

I'd put her shoes or a purse near the table, wait for her to pull in the driveway, then lay down near it with a vase and flowers. Pretend to be unconscious. When she runs up to you, "wake up" grab your head and say

"I dont know what happened sweetie, i was going to set these flowers i got you on the table and tripped over something."

Then point to her shoes/purse

Hurry up and get rid of the rest of it and pretend you were robbed.

I had to explain to my wife last week why she cane home to a busted 60" tv in the living room. Yes, It was because I wasn't watching our two year old. I mean technically I was if you count playing on my ipad while he ran around destroying the house. They don't call them terrible two's for nothing. :)

I like the way you think. ;) Heck, I might even be able to vector this into a romantic evening.

Should have put a piece of plywood where the glass goes and said you wanted a new design ;Hilarious;Hilarious;Hilarious;Joyful;Joyful

This thread is hilarious!!!

How about just telling her the truth!! I think you can also get her to see why it’s a good thing you found out the table could break so easily instead of it breaking like that from your daughter dropping something on it. She might be grateful if you put it like that!
