So after a couple years and being able to convince the gf its a great thing to have and she can have part in it, Im back but doing it small. We got a simple 10g setup with a HOB filter. We used a combination substrate of fine crushed coral on the bottom and then sand for a deep sand bed., did a little toss. It was Nature's Ocean Bio-Activ Live Aragonite Reef Sand it has the bacteria in it for quick setup. Got a single big rock with alot coraline algae, and updated the lights to screw in 50/50 bulbs today. I also bought a Hydor Korilia Nano 240 off amazon since i couldnt find any in the stores.
Day 1: 3/4/12

Looking good! I started my 10 gallon out the same way. Just upgraded the lighting to a WavePoint LED. What are you planning to stock it with?

Yeh there will be more rock. Im going to get a bunch more base rock, I like tanks with alot of rock. For fish prolly gonna do a perc, goby and not really much more. As for coral just the simple corals, zoas, frogspawn, candy cane, trumpet , nothing to needy.

So found my test kit and thought its due. Looks like nitrates and ammonia is zero which is good. My calcium is a little low but not worried now. Couldnt find my ph test kit. My salinity is low but there is more than enough in there have to get my korilia in there. So far so good. I'm not rushing this one

So went to a new store by my house and got some new rocks. Did a little aqua scaping. I think I need a couple more small pieces. This is what it looks like now, may change when I get my powerhead.

Been a couple weeks and thought I would do some updates.

So since last time, Started to get sone brown algae. Started small and spread. I have upgraded the filter, I got an aqua clear 30 now. I added a phosbag in the filter to help with the spread of the algae. I have done a couple water changes, small. I ordered a clean up crew from reefcleaners.org and got them quick!!!! Go their 10g kit. Was suppose to include 10 dwarf ceriths, 3 nassarius, 6 florida ceriths, 4 nerires.I think they messed up and sent me to many dwarf Ceritha and I mean A LOT. With haveing that many is it going to be a bad thing? I'm hoping they bury them self a lot lol. I may have some if some need them.

That was my experience with reef cleaners. I'd definitely order from them again. The coralline is growing in nicely.

I cheated, bought rock already with it on it. I have one big one that is TRUE LR and then the rest is man made rocks from a LFS. With the clean up crew i have they did their job!!!! My tank is so clean now. The rocks were covered and now just have a little bit. I went and bought a perc and also got a frag of GSP. Tomorrow I will post pics after class.

So this weekend I went to Atlanta for training for my new job and wanted to check out sone LFS. Ended up going to Pure Reef. By far the coolest saltwater fish store I have been to. There was a bunch of display tanks in the front that were beautiful. The guys there are all really nice , they dont make u feel stupid when asking questions. This weekend they had 25% off fish and coral. With a deal like that I had to get stuff. I stopped back today on my way back home and got a yellow clown goby and a zoa frag with my contest money I won from here (will post later). I could bought a lot more but saving some money for WWC 12 HR SALE.
Below is a pic of their store when u enter

I have a new coral I got... its a hammer coral, I was looking for frogspawn. Will post a pic tomorrow
I'm throwing around the idea of getting a bigger tank. I knew it was eventual, I have found a hand full of setups. Looking at a 28g nano, 65 or a brand new everything 40g breeder. Hmmmmmm decisions
