I have a quite large space invader pectina I am looking to sell at some point. I heard from a few people that I should be able to get 1200-1500 for this piece. Is that really true?

I also have 2 large space invaders and have wondered the same - my guess is that you would be lucky to get $400-500 for a very large mature piece. These are pretty common and fairly easy to grow

Depends but it’s hard to find someone who wants a colony and pay as if they buying every possible frag at market prices

The way colony selling works is you gotta accept that you are selling at once instead of putting the work into fragging and selling. Expect wholesale price.

Basically
The formula is ( a x b ) x 0.25 = colony price
A: How many frags it can make
B: Cost of frags

Now it’s different if someone is specifically looking for a show size piece already.

Good take. I could probably get 20 frags from each of my colonies ( posted here earlier ) . Also keep in mind frag prices would be 1/2 of retail price to LFS ( or less ).

Yeah! The LFS also has to take the risk and supplies to frag.
I think you get more if you actually frag it and bring healed frags to LFS. That’s why i think 0.25 is more appropriate if he just wants to sell the colony to an LFS

large colony prices are all over the map. Honestly its just going to be if you find an interested buyer in a large item.

It will be easier to sell IMO if you frag it.
Any suggestions on fragging a Pectina?
