I purchased a 20 gallon tank recently and have it set up and stocked.

I understand that 2 panes of glass should never touch and have space between them and for the silicone to do the work.

But is this a concern as shown here? Tank is populated and to drain and return would be very difficult.

This looks good for a 20 gallon tank. I assume mass produced aquarium. Looks like machine applied which can allow for tighter tolerances. Even if custom 20 gallon tanks do not experience the load a larger tank does at the same height. So unless the silicone is damaged or gaps exists then I wouldn't worry.
