Spare 200g system. What to do?

We’ve moved into a new home and decided to upgrade our Red Sea XXL750 for multiple reasons- logistics, concerns about seams (and Red Sea reputation) moving a 5yo tank to a main level with hardwoods, etc. The plan was to sell the Red Sea, but what if we put it in the basement….

So if you had a spare 200g 6’ tank, what would you do with it? Requirement would be very low maintenance. Perhaps a FOWLR predator tank with an eel, lion fish, puffer, etc.? Stuff you just can’t keep in a tank with corals and/or inverts but also low maintenance. Looking for some inspiration before listing it for sale.

Yeah I would go with a predator tank. Save a bunch of money without having to dose or having fancy lights. Turn the lights off whenever the algae starts getting bad. Add some triggers, tangs, and wrasses to complete the stocking.

Another idea is a butterfly fish tank. Since most are non reef safe it would be cool to see a tank with a bunch of different butterflies.

I hate to see a tank go to waste but i would hate even more to see it fail after moving, setup, cycling, and stocking and even more i would hate to see you loose that livestock and damage your home. If you could add some bracing i might be more inclined to encourage you to use it.

I would also agree with a predator tank! Lion fish are super cool and have such great predator personalities. Triggers are also like little puppies with insane jaws lol

Lion fish, while undeniable reef pests, are nonetheless undeniably beautiful. But would it be happy with flake food long term (the low maintenance requirement)? I guess another idea would be an angel tank.
