So I am setting up a spare 40g b, just to mess around with, and I have a lot of extra equipment wondering what I should use.

So this tank will be on it own apex. I was thinking of running extra cor 20 I have to run the UV, and both of the Carbon reactors I have, or would I be better off running those off of the MJ 1200 I have, I have one for each.

I also have a nice air pump and sponge filter that I could use.

Again this is all equipment I have sitting around, and wondering what my best options are for this tank.

Thanks

What would you put in it? That may help you decide on the best course of action. That is a good sized “play” tank so there are a lot of cool things you could do with it, even a species tank or something you might not keep in your regular display.

Nothing crazy, maybe some clownfish, mostly want to get my kids interested in the hobby. With that being said what would you use that I have for filtration?

Thanks

Well, not sure. I am more of a skimmer person at that size. I have never used a reactor, but if I did, and had two, I would probably do one carbon and one Macroalgae.

Ok thanks, I forgot I also have an fx4 filter. Would you bother with the sponge filter?

I was thinking the reactors run from a Cor 20 or with mj1200.
