Hi All.

3 day old tank here just set up.

Lost our 'starter shrimp' on Sunday night so tank probably having pretty high ammonia right now. Going to start dosing with peak tomorrow. Other then that havnt started testing anything other then salinity which has been a stable 1.025.

Tank came with a zoa, Kenya tree, and GSP frags all have been opening up fairly decently during the day.

Real question here is what are all these white spiral growths blowing up all over the live rock? Did we ID them correctly? Several fleshy white strands also seem to be popping up.

They gave me a food grade shrimp to throw in the tank. It was very small, to start producing amonia.

Live rock from an established tank, live sand, and salt water produced from the local fish store all went into the tank to kick start it with dosing of bottled bacteria.

I had not initially planned to immediately add live coral into the tank this early, but the lfs assured me it would be ok.

I do believe the tank is still cycling, but the corals have been opening up daily and seem to be happy so far.
