Splash and Bubbles, making friends in the ocean

Anyone else watch this with their kids (or just for the heck of it)? My one year old loves it. I've been impressed with the amount of reef and fish information they've woven into the show. Or maybe I'm delirious from sleep deprivation!

my kids watch it, but don't love it. i love the manadrin goby they have as one of the main characters.

I have watched several episodes. It teaches good life lessons but is not reef -accurate. For example, it says that the South American Archer Fish is from the ocean. One of the group of the fish friends is a Ghirabaldi, a California native, doesn't coexist with Mandarins so they blend the temperate kelp forest with the tropical coral reef. Routinely refers to lionfish as poisonous, instead of venomous. etc.

I expect this on commercial TV like SpongeBob but not on PBS. A little fact checking for accuracy wouldn't really alter the storylines too much.

I see what you are saying. Definitely curious to hear what inaccuracies there are.
I guess I was personally impressed they had as much detail and accuracy as they do. Being a kid's show, they could have designed the fish to look like real fish and stopped there. Instead, they have worked behavioral traits and other real factors into the storylines. I liked that they featured an anglerfish with the male (creepily) fused to the female. They featured reef bleaching in another episode and invasive species in another. Seems to be a good mix of entertainment and info to me.
