Sponge is excreting a clear liquid: Hs anyone seen this

I came home a few minutes ago and my blue sponge was excreting a shiny clear substance. It is a little puffed. Could the anenome next to it be causing a problem.

All around or just where the two corals interface?

FWIW My Lobophyllia just touched one of my Acroporas and it left a clear slimy bubble. Three days later this area is all white.

on the surface and not where they are touching. I can't move it. it is stuck to the rock. Would you try to move the anenome or sponge

Boy once you think everything is perfect somethings happens.

Hmm. If you think the other coral/s are not bothering it just use an old powerhead or perhaps a soft brush and rid the coral of that muck. (consider it a cold) If it's back within 12 hours or say though it might be a problem. GL.

I have tons of purple plating sponge. Most of it is shiny like glass.

Could any one know what these guys look like when they release gametes?

It is my understanding that this is normal for this species. I suspect it is a symbiotic bacteria that aids in defense of the sponge. That is speculation on my part after reading some papers on Lendenfeldia chondrodes.
