+1- I have used this in the past and definitely saw sponge growth, though it goes by fast for bigger tanks. Also any particulate foods like phyto or something like roids can help it grow best of luck and post progress pics!Sponges are fun

yeah a of of sponges get choked if algal organisms grow inside their tissuesYep! sponges - that yellow one is pretty cool! They usually don't do well in light though so they might recede if they stay like that. If they grew there though then no worries- that usually only applies when you turn over rocks or buy a rock with sponges and then expose them to light
if anything they are usually pretty hard to keep aroundI really dont see why everyone is so scared around sponges - they are pretty easy to remove if they overgrow - just keep up on running activated carbon and silica dosing and your sponges should be happy
