Always best to work towards pleasing the wife. Not doing so will make life harder.
the light fixtures are tacky for aquarium.
Giesemann is the only company that designs non tacky fixtures.
 
Same boat. The light pollution is a huge issue. It seems like the tanks with hoods don't have this issue and all light is contained within the confines of the tank where it belongs.

My wife hates standard light mounts. Looking to use ai hydras on this build, so she wants a custom canopy to hide them, as she hates the AI mounts
 
My wifey rips tank to "something you'd expect to find in a high school kid's bedroom".

This isn't my tank! Was just showing an example. But it is a rad setup.
