If they're shipped they usually go straight into dip made with tank water. If they're from someone local it's usually half tank water and half bag water and bayer. Haven't see any greater or fewer loses since switching to this method a few years ago.

So let me ask, you are not concerned about alkanity difference from sellers tank to yours? If the seller keeps their tank at 12 dkh and yours is at 8 dkh, won't that difference really shock the frag?

Float bag for 15 minutes. Dip into Bayer and rinse in fresh tank water. Straight to the bottom of my tank to adjust to the light.

A coral dip like revive and a freshwater dip. There are many methods to this as u will see. But a coral qt is ultimately what will ensure you arent introducing anything unwanted.

Fresh tank water and not freshwater I hope? Zoas and maybe LPS for freshwater but I've seen too many folks cause more harm than good for SPS.

Lots of methods indeed! I float for temp, remove some bag water and add tank water, dip in Bayer for 10-20 min, rinse 2x with tank water, onto the frag rack lower in the tank they go...

I do not advise a freshwater dip at all for SPS.

I unpack > Bayer dip in tank water > Rinse > onto frag rack low for light acclimation

So far for me it's float the bag then dip in Coral Revive in a mix of bagged water and tank water. Then I rinse in clean tank water and add to the tank.

Bucket waiting with wc water, small heater, small power head. Water change is done the day before as I order corals. Float bag 15minutes, remove bag, add Interceptor, remove coral from plug, coral gets a nice warm bath for 6 hours. Remove coral from bath, place in clear plastic cup with tank water check it out carefully for any critters. Lastly, glue frag onto a new plug and place in the lower third of the tank for weeks before moving upward. Coral gets placed in tank during evening hours when lights are dimmer.

I just ordered a rather pricey Acro (JF B33 Bomb) myself and it's my last attempt at another Acro if this one dies (for at least a week ha!). From what I'm reading in here I'm surprised to see I've been acclimation too long it seems. Am I correct the total acclimation period from un-boxing, float, Bayer Dip, FW rinse, second super fast FW dip is only about 20-30 mins (maybe a little more depending on temp)?

I've been slow dripping my acros for about 4-5 hours then dips, then tank. One one Acro survivor out of 5 so far.

As you can see from the rest of the comments, many ways and techniques used to dip. Only 1 of 5 acros survived? Fresh TANK water a few times to rinse after Bayer dips, not actual freshwater. My process usually takes about 30-45 min and slow dripping is not needed IME.

Dont drip anything for more than 15 min. When you open tue shipping bag for the first time the clock starts and you coral, fish whatever needs to be out of the shipping water in 30min.

Can't believe this and I'm lucky I haven't killed other corals acclimating this way. With that said, maybe now I know the reasons I keep killing new Acro in my acclimation method versus water chemistry or light PAR's. Thank you for responding and maybe just maybe this one will make it.

Food for thought. My display has ostreopsis dinos here and there. I transfer stuff from my display to my frag tank all the time with VISIBLE dinos on the items and dinos disappear in the frag tank. Can't find a single one with a microscope days after move from the display to the frag. If dinos were as simple as one cell getting into any tank and taking over then everyone would have them. Conditions have to be JUST right.
