Why do so many people starve their corals running ulns, for a new gauge I would aim .1 phos to 20 - 40 nitrates!

Because "back in my day" people. Back when people called you sir, women wore skirts, and kids had respect !

The fact of the matter is, those people will not change, they refuse to see logic from the other side of the argument. Here's some gems I heard over the years:


"You cant improve upon nature"
-- we've been making steroids for over 100 years now...



"This is the only way seasoned pros do it"
-- except all the seasoned pros that rely on coral growth for their income. Not to mention all the literal gods they bow down to like Sanjay, who don't keep that way.



"The goals of vendors aren't the same as the goals of a hobbyist!"
-- The goals of a vendor are growth and color... If growth and color aren't 'your goal' then let me know when your ulns system brings peace in the middle East and cures cancer.

Skimmer and some seachem biomedia. I like the seachem matrix because it isn't too efficient. I don't do water changes, ATS, fuge, not even filter socks. Corals love all that stuff.
