I received this coral as a frag a good year ago. It came out of a tank that was torn up for a move and ended at the LFS. What it is got forgotten. Pink with light blue tips. Anybody who knows ? Thanks

It looks like a stag of some sort , apparently my attempt at a joke got deleted. Anyways the growth pattern looks like a staghorn coral of some sort

It’s OK if you do not know what this coral is . I do not know either. This is a forum of reefers that seek knowledge from others. Racial and sexual insenitivities do not belong here. I suggest we go back to reefing, to all have fun and abandon/forget my threat.

I know this as blue tip acro

That looks like Purple Slimer. If you could take it out of the water and it releases some slimy substance then it is for sure Purple Slimer

Thank for the reply. ...so no, it does not slime. But I definitely have to look up purple slimer!

I've got purple slimer and blue tipped staghorn, that looks like blue tipped staghorn and if it didnt start drooling with slime after handling it, that confirms its not purple slimer. There are a few variations of blue tipped staghorn, with green/brown base etc and lighting and nutrients will play a role in coloration.
