Not sure what’s going on but this birds nest has been loosing tissue at the bottom and now is loosing it towards the top. My others in the tank are fine except the one nearest it. Please help. Haven’t added anything new in 3 months (1 fish wrasse) and no new coral in 6 months. Everything is ran on a controller and level are very steady.

Sal-1.25
Temp-78.3
Ph-8.11
Alk-10. 5 (steady in this range)
Calc-458
Mag-1350

Low/no nitrates and high alkalinity are a bad mix.
For nitrates that low I’d stick around 7-8 dkh.
If you want to keep your alk high raise your nitrates

I agree. But the tank and corals have been happy and thriving up until now. So I left it alone. My alk always sits high naturally

Birds nest can have trouble in ulns I’ve heard try fragging a small peice to save it. Could be a pest hard to tell. A lot of manufactures or carbon dosing fluids recommend 6.5-7.5 alk or else you will see lots of white tips and other problems. only other issue I see is possibly starving from lack of nutrients. Are you using amino acids or coral food?

I use to use amino acids and coral fool but I stopped. Maybe that could be it. I’ll try starting back on it ASAP.

And yeah I frag a piece a few months ago and it’s doing great. Just the big one having the problem.

Thanks
