In most cases, these issues are water related, temperature related and even due to false readings. As much as I love neptune /apex products, learning the hard way, if I depended on my Trident unit and salinity probe- my tank would be dead.

I can recall bubbles on acros back into the early 2000's. I see it from time to time in other reefers tanks, and some of my older systems. Only thing I recall being the common denominator was uln, specifically undetectable phosphate. Now, if you tell me that you have high po4 than that theory is BS :D

I gave up trying to remedy it. Not all acros are affected. Largely tenious and poccilporra. Just sucks to lose all my nice tenuis which was the majority of my acros.

rest are fine and growing.

I had similar issues with two of my acros, it started from a mariculture piece and spread to another one. nothing was wrong with parameters, other acros were fine. The growth was bubbled and slow and would just sit there for months not growing much. I started dosing KZ flatworm stop since the product claims it will help improve acropora health, I am not sure what it did exactly, but the affected acros didn't like the KZ flatworm dosing, soon after dosing daily, they slowly STNed to white skeleton, Personally I was okay with the result of losing the two affected corals to keep it from spreading to other ones. I haven't see that disease again in my tank so far. I continued to dose KZ flatworm stop for few more months and then stopped, its been a year. Not sure if KZ flatworm stop did anything or it was just coincidence, just my observation.

Acropora infection ID?

I have a couple of pieces of acropora that seems to have some sort of bubbling disease. This is some green mariculture piece This is a bonsai acro that i got from a fellow reefer As you can see they tissue seems bloated or bubbled, but its hard to touch. I did some research initially and...

Has anyone considered the possibility that it could be linked to a stress response. Is there a connection between mushrooms bouncing and what we are seeing on our corals. Could it be a reaction to an inappropriate spectrum for coral health, to much blue light, to much near UV?
Just clutching at straws realy, as I've tried everything to fix it with no luck.

That is why I made my decision 1 year ago , to go with GHL profilux 4.
Although it's not "user friendly" but the accrute readings and overall quality of their equipment are second to none.
I'm also using their Dosing pump ,and they are wonderful

No I haven't, not even sure we have it here in the UK.
I suspect it is microbial, but brought on by a weak stressed coral due to other stress factors.

Good news is my aquabiomics retest proved to be successful; no more Sctld in the tank after a combo of heavily dosed Cipro, Amoxy, and Doxy, and I had three strains. The bad news is none of the corals survived either, so now it’s a fresh start…

I think this is worth investigating. I think it could be related to the bouncing we see in mushrooms, which certainly isn't healthy. Someone might try changing their type of lighting.

Sorry, man. I now feel that doxycycline should probably be avoided by hobbyist. It is just too easy to transform it from something helpful into something lethal.

No major revelations unfortunately, my corals are definitely improving, most of the blistering has gone but the acros effected are mostly in hibernation mode.
Changes I have made are, added to blade grows, improved flow, removed air fresheners, used some carbon and kept parameters rock steady.

If you put in new frags do they grow or do they stall?
