Sps questions

Ok im new to sps how can you tell if there the start of new growth on sps beside the obviousness of it getting bigger

White tips, and encrusting around the base. Looks like it is spreading.

Not the greatest pic, but it looks alive. How long have you had it? What's your lighting?

And I doubt it's growing. It hasn't encrusted the glue at the base. SPS encrust at the base and spread out then grow upwards...

It will completely encrust the whole plug at the base of the frag, then will begin growing branches and grow upwards.

What's prob from your LEDs? The white? If it's bleaching from the tips it could be a couple things. Burnt tips or STN. Is it spreading towards the center? Honestly you can't see much from the picture. Sorry to be so blunt.
