Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm looking at one of these frags online and was wondering if this monti plates at all.
Thanks

Here is one of mine. Little blurry. I have 3 frags from the same piece and they all seem to be a bit different in color and growth. All 3 are placed at different depths. Pretty cool Monti for $10 frags.

Bought in Feb 2017...Then and Now (today). I moved mine from low/mid to up high, and the polyps went from deep red to bright yellow..GROWTH skyrocketed too. Can't get it to leave the plug...but the WHOLE plug is covered

What kind of lights are you using?

What are you guys experience with this coral and others? Specifically palys. I have some palys that are very aggressive growth wise. Most of my corals don't seem to be bothered by them, but a few were.
I have a mixed reef.
Thanks

Bookmarking so I can add my picture later! :)

So how high up the tank should these be for best color with radions?

Honestly with LED’s it would behoove you to rent or buy a PAR meter. There are so many variables that placement without one is just a shot in the dark most of the time. The difference could be over 100 PAR just a few inches apart. LEDs are very directional. You could even rent one and take a picture of your tank and log the readings on the picture. In my experience this is not a very high light coral. Less than other forms of SPS.

Here's my rainbow. Only a couple months old

How well does it take high flow?
I have a spot I'd like to put it, but the flow might be too high. I had an acro in near the same spot and I had to move it due to slow growth. I have a pavona near where I want to put the rainbow monti, and he doesn't mind the high flow one bit. It just grows more like a vase.

I have mine in a pretty high flow spot and he seems to do well
