SPS thriving, LPS dying

About 3 months ago I battled cyano and aiptasia and won. I lost all but one of my chalices(totaling around 4 or 5 frags) and a few fish. I let my tank recover from the cyano and aiptasia and about 3 days ago I bought a blue tyree chalice. I acclimated it correctly and placed it on the sand bed. I woke up this morning and noticed some of the tissue around the edge beginning to show the skeleton. I can't figure this out!
Params are as follows:
Temp: 77-79
salinity: 1.026
PH: 8.4
Dkh: 9-10
Ca: 400
Nitrate: 0<1
Phosphate: 0<.05
Mg: ? picking up a test kit soon
I am running ecobak and gfo via nextreef reactors and I have a vs135 euroreef skimmer. T-5 6x54w fixture with the lighting schedule 1-2 hours actinic 8 hours all lights on followed by 1-2 actinic.

The craziest thing is all my sps, montipora, acro and pocillopora have great growth and decent color. I can't seem to figure this out. Any advice would be great.

I tried cutting down on feeding while performing large water changes...didn't work. The I added nextreef reactor with GFO...didn't work. I finally used ultra life red slime remover.

Isn't your alk a little high for carbon dosing? Not a carbon doser so not real sure on the ecobak, but I seem to remember lower dkh recommendations for carbon dosing
How do you add ca/alk, stability is a key factor

I dose brightwell a and b. The Dkh #'s are were from this morning's test, usually they stay at 9.

+1 1400 or higher and my chalices are their happiest.

I have heard it many times about keeping lower alk while carbon dosing. I use Ecobak and keep my alk between 8-9 and have been just fine, fwiw.

Update: I bought a Mg test(sailifert) and my mg tested 1425 on the first test and since that was my first time using the kit I tested it again and it read 1440. So somewhere between those two figures.

I know when you add red slime remover the oxygen levels can get low cause they tell you to turn off your skimmer. You have to be very carefull when dosing a smaller tank. I was told you can lose fish very easily if the oxygen levels get to low.

ya i can... when dosing vodka or other carbon sources it's a good practice to keep you alk around 7-9 max or you can burn tips of sps etc.....
rick knows what he's talking about lol... he's a good friend of mine and long time reefer.....;) i have gotten lot's of great advice from that man.....

it is crucial to keep your alk at or near NSW levels when dosing a carbon source like vodka, bio pellets

I use ecokbak and shoot for 8. I had a spike on the 11/23 and I'm just now recovering.
