About a year what causes them to bleach ?
Many things. How big is the tank and how many fish do you have? How much do you feed, what are you doing for nutrient export, and what are you dosing? What lights are you using?

200 gallon feed once a day i have a refugium run it 24hra a day along with my skimmer
Yellow tang
Unicorn tang
Lieutenant tang
Foxface
3 anthia
2 wrasse
Have a barebottom as far as dosing only dosing 20ml esv alk only cal and mag are stable

Lighting? Those acros look like they need more fish poop. Just bc you have xNo3/ypo4 doesn’t mean there is enough nutrition for your sps. Feed your fish more. I would reduce your fuge to 15 hours and maybe even turn your skimmer off while your lights are on.

What does an acro that needs more fish poop look like? I’m not sure I agreed with your diagnosis. Not that it’s wrong necessarily, but how could you possibly know.

Also, when people say “bleached,” do they mean dead? The branch of the one acro in the pic above is straight up dead. Cut it off or the RTN/STN will spread. I’ve never had an acro go full white walker and then recover later. Dead is dead.

It looks like the acros the OP posted pics of. “Bleached” is typically not used correctly. These corals are not bleached. They are stressed (probably from starvation or possible contaminated water) and have shut down their metabolic processes. They start to look brown and “dried” out and then the tissue starts to fall off. This “browning” leads most ppl to thinking that their no3/po4 is too high, which is wrong, so they start over stripping the water even more. As you can see from my pics, 25 no3 and 0.20 po4 doesn’t cause problems with acros.

YUP............... not enough nutrients most likely.. listen to this post jose^^^^^

K as far as lighting Is the 4 pros good enough I was thiking goin t5 hybrid with them

When u say starvation or contaminated water what do u mean
Starvation means you’re not providing enough ammonia/ammonium (fish, snail, crab etc poop) You’re removing it before your sps have a chance to absorb it. Feed your fish more and reduce your export.
