Sps with puffy tips

Hey does anyone know why my sps has puffy tips?

Is this normal or something wrong with this coral?

Should be fine but just look out for peeling on the wierd growth, not that I have seen it before like that but it reminds me of a hyperplasia type deal. If it can get worse and or affects other corals but can also just go away. Normally hyperplasia looks like a lumpy and bumpy growth though, is yours smooth? Is it just the one coral doing that? Unless someone has seen this specifically and knows or has a different thought.

i have not seen it on other corals. I can best describe it as it looks like a blister with liquid inside. It was never like this until about 1 month ago. All parameters are ok. Nothing really changed.

They do strange things usually goes away.

I've had this happen, although mine had more of a "bounce" quality. Never really figured out what it was- just maintain quality reefing and it probably will go away

Just had the same issue with a Tenuis. Nothing negative happen. I had a drop in Alk but once things were stable again it went away.

Same problem I’m having with a couple of my acros. My calcium is low at 330 while my Alk is at 9.9. Trying to rectify levels and hopefully affected acros will improve.

yea thats what i have. i will check calcium

Yea that’s hyperplasia or something along those lines. When I saw it in my tank the only thing I could see wrong was I was dosing unequal parts of two part. When I corrected that things recovered. I do believe having uneven calcium and alk levels can cause this but it’s not always the case. Hopefully after you correct them things will return to normal.
