If any of you saw my other thread, i bought a brand new 150 and while moving it, dropped it and broke a corner a little bit, and ive since decided I dont think i will trust any patching so I will be buying a 120g from glasscages as i cant afford another 150 like i had. Only problem is I built my stand for the 5’ long 150, and this 120 is the same dimension deep, but its 4’ long. I built it out of 2x4s with the leg supports directy under the corners of the tank, but with a 4’ tank, the legs wont be right under the corners, there will be a little of an offset on the sides (which is fine with me, will have a little shelf space to set stuff on).

The stand itself is built stronger than what i needed, and its skinned all the way around in 1/2 plywood, and there is a sheet of 3/4 marine grade plywood for the top surface, along with a sheet on the bottom of the frame. Pictures attached and the sketch of what i went off building it prwtty much, just added another top support across.

Will this be ok to put a 120 on with different corner dimensions? My gut is telling me it wouldnt be any different because the force still transfers from the tank down to the 4 legs through the plywood, but wanted a second opinion. Thanks!

Your fine. Thats a solid stand. The surface area is going to distribute well across the top. That is definately stong enough to handle a 120. If your worried, add 2 more 2x4 cross supports where the edges of the tank will sit. Under the top piece. More weight distribution.
