The tank is against the wall and filled. Wondering if I could remove the center of this stand. Center has 3 pieces, 3 3/4 x 3/4 thick ends. The middle piece is glued on to match the side doors. Gonna put my sump in there. .........smh.

Can you pump some water out of the tank ? Maybe remove a few rocks. Anything to drop the weight. Then quickly do the sump install and put the water and rocks back in. If not..... I wouldnt do it.

I did just that on my 180 bowfront without issue. But your tank stand is totally differnet than mine.

A center brace is not needed on some stands but from the look of yours I'd say it would not be good to remove. The top rail would need to need to be well supported and at least 3/4" x 4" hardwood like Oak, Maple or Birch. Load bearing just 3/4 x 3" framework needed but to be structurally stable a 4" minimum to keep from racking without some type of corner gussets. Starting from scratch you can have the center stile be removable to allow sump in/out ability but would need to be in place before filling tank fully.

Cheers, Todd

My return section of the sump do not stay at level line. Im using a mag 9.5. Could it be that the pump is to strong?
