Hello everyone, im very very interested in starting a 125 gallon saltwater tank but dont necessarily know where to start, ive done research however fan anyone please explain to me exactly what i need aswell as the steps i need to tale to start this aquarium and keep it running healthy? Please be as detailed as possible, i wanted to have fish as well as coral.

Unfortunately, there's not really one way to go about keeping a tank, so it's difficult for anyone to say: buy this, this, and that, and then do this. Research is key. A LOT depends on what kind of a tank you want, and what kind of animals you're hoping to keep.

If you're brand new to saltwater, I like to suggest this guide:

And this video series:

Certainly, if you have questions, please post again 🙂

Good luck with your build!

I think the best approach is to ask yourself what kind of fish and coral do you want to keep? Then, you design your tank around those inhabitants.

So, you will have to be more specific.

What have you learned from your research?
