Many sticks of this stuff. I did the scape slowly so these sticks worked well as i didnt have to mix anything each time when i worked on the tank.

Would you still use acrylic rods in an arch with it?

The acrylic tube which is my overflow makes the structure stable. The cement is merely used to hold the small pieces of dry rock to the acrylic overflow in my design. If you want to build an arch without an acrylic base, i dont think using the Instant Ocean Holdfast is the best way to get there.

Just found this and read through the entire thing. Very nice! I am sad to see you are upgrading but excited to see what you do next. I wish id found this sooner I just set my 28x28x24 up, unfortunately I have a corner overflow. When I had this tank built I didnt have the foresight you did to do a central overflow, wish I had.

I took these photos last night. Today I started the slow migration away from this tank into the temporary holding tank. My new tank is a GlassCages 5x3’ made with acrylic because of weight. Will be months before that beast is ready to build but I am going to document the break down of this cube here and hope to continue this thread with the new tank eventually.

Where did you get your threadfin cardinals from? I’m having a hard time getting them through QT
You can’t buy threadfins if shipped to you. I have 90% success rate when I pick them up from BluezooAquatics and without qt, then go directly into my display. The threadfins can have ich, but normally very mild and then mine showed resistance. These are the same threadfins I started the tank with. When I had them shipped to me in the past I would have 10% success rate if not less. I stopped purchasing them because I knew I would be the reason for their demise.

Im planning a planted freshwater amazon river themed aquascape with this tank... first time with freshwater. But i need a challenge ;).

Was hoping maybe you were looking to sell, haha... but that's cool. I've seen some pretty cool freshwater tanks with the daylight LEDs. They look a lot better than the freshwater tanks I had growing up.

You were right!!! This is great! Used it on a Tonga structure recently.
