with regards to starting reefing, if i am going from a standard fish only tank, to something where i start working with corals, is there ways to use standard salt to do corals? currently, i use instant ocean, and just got a whole new bucket recently, so i would hate for it to go to waste. i know they have their reef salt, but if i use the standard salt, is there a way to dose it for the nutrients needed for coral?

I ran my tank's alkalinity at 6-7 dKH for the first year with regular IO. All corals did fine and everything was happy/extended.
