Even though I did not spend a lot of time not working on my stand today I got a lot done.
Here are some updated pics of the stand and canopy with the doors added and the canopy lid. I still need to add some
trim to the canopy lid and to the stand. If all goes as planned I should be ready to put some stain on it by the first of the
week.

This weekend was very productive on the tank build. Here are some more pictures. Now its time for the sanding and staining.
This is how much room I will have to work under the tank and in canopy because all the will come completely off.

ok its been awhile since I updated this thread, I have been on travel several time but have made some very good progress on the build.
Here is the stand base with the stain applied with no clear coat over it yet.
Got the stain applied to everything, it all still need the polyurethane applied.
Well got the polyurethane applied and decided it was time to start the leak testing.
Well after it was filled and running I started getting a flushing effect in my overflow so I had to rework my
drain plumbing. I removed the hard pvc and went with a union and flex pvc.
On to the canopy, the lights, fans and lid hinges have been installed.
So right now I only have to finish up the magnets on the doors, and update my RKL and It will be ready to move in the house.

Just read through everything. Looks really great so far. That stand is amazing, and great work on the canopy.
One question... So by changing the pvc out for something more flexible fixed the issue?

Changing the pvc and adding the union acomplished two things. Made it easy to disconnect the drain if needed and it also shortened the amount of pvc. If you look in the other picture you can see the amount of regular pvc that I had to use the get the drain to the far left side of the sump. I know it is hard to tell by the pics but it was almost 5' of pvc with 2 90's. This distance and the 90's was causing a tremendous amount fo back pressure in the line causing the flushing effect.

First let me say "GO FSU". Thanks I think everything has turned out good so far, and yes there are really only minor details left before it can go in the house. I really only have to finish installing my magnets on the doors and update my RKL.

ok everyone the tank is in the house and running. I still have to do a few things but they can all be done while it is running. Once the water clears up will add more sand if needed and rearrange the rocks.
For some reason the stand looks blotchy in the pics but its not in person. I will try and take some better pics later as I am very tired now.

Ok well have been checking the water parameters over the last few days and they are right were I want them. Last night I started playing with the live rock and trying to figure out the aquascaping on the tank and this is what I ended up with, what you think.
