Steel stand question

Looking at starting a new build. Tank will be a 5’x2’ 150 gallon. I’m wanting to use a steel stand wrapped with a wood facade. I am wondering if I can get away with using 2”x2”x1/8” square tubing and be fine. I do NOT want to have any center braces. I want the front of the stand to be completely open. Anyone here know if this size square tubing will hold up without any center braces or will I need to go with a heavier steel?

Are you going to install corner braces?

Maybe someone in the #reefsquad knows a little more about the recommended thickness of the steel.

Yes I would utilize corner braces to prevent buckling.

Here's my sketchup drawing for the stand I built for my 125G with 1.25" 11 gauge steel tubing. It's probably a little over-built, but IMO I would think no center bracing at all would be a little under built. I would at minimum corner brace.

I ended up using the teal middle brace bars as shelving on the two sides of the 75G sump so it worked out for me to have them. Note there is no brace in the middle on the front.
