In the process of sterilizing my QT.

Am following the guide here: https://www.reef2reef.com/ams/video-how-to-sterilize-a-quarantine-tank.201/

Do most of you throw out your media, ceramic rings or live rock? I really don't want to be going out to buy new media every time I quarantine a fish. What are your methods and most efficient way to get the QT back up and running so the next batch can go in. Would we have to cycle the tank again from the begining?

Hi! A couple of questions. What did you quarantine? Were any medications used?

I quarantined a copperband. Unfortunately that copperband developed the red sore and some kind of infection or parasite and slowly deteriorated.

Did you use any medication in the tank? If so, what kind?

I've sterilised my tank today. I've decided to let all the ceramic rings and media filter dry out completely and probably will not use it again for another month or so. Will this eliminate the bacteria?

Yup.

I switched to Chloroquine phosphate as a treatment. It works better without any bacterial film. So dose, and then dose prime every other day to handle ammonia.
