STL's 180G Build - Going Large with WWC!

Update on the sump!!! Reef Connect, the manufacturer of your sump is the same company who built our sump on our 500 Gallon show tank. They called me this morning with great news...he is starting to cut today/Thursday. WWC has been working closely with Reef Connect for over two years and the quality and workmanship of their sumps/filters are TOP NOTCH!!!!!

The tank has a slick black vinyl wrap on the back wall and over the two Corner-Flos - really tidies it up!

Rockwork! Love the arches, caves and structure - there are also places for some of the rock from my 55G to gradually move over

Outstanding job by WWC! These are also on Flickr as a set you can view at higher res: 180G Arrival - a set on Flickr

I'll post more photos when the sand storm has settled!

Like the rock work!!! Glwb

Thank you! Aquascape is definitely one of the many things we take pride in here at WWC. Heck around the shop a few of us are in competition with each other to see who can do the sickest aquascape....hehehe
Our top two top dogs here at the shop are Victor and Aces.

I came home to clear water tonight - and AMAZING caustics coming off those Radions. Here's a video - you can also see the depth of the rockwork, something that's hard to see in the stills:

Lou emailed me a sneak peek... sump's arrived! (been running with a temp sump) Thanks Lou!

Aces came by this afternoon with the spiffy sump. Here are some photos of the sump, the uber clean plumbing job, and you can see how the Radion power supplies are mounted - everything's extremely tidy:

I also did a flow test by putting some Purple Up in the intake chamber - it quickly dispersed into the skimmer box, and slowly flowed through the refugium. Kudos to the WWC crew!

I think the sump builder was having fun with his CNC machine...

The sump has two parallel chambers between the inlet chamber with the filter socks and return pump chamber - one for the skimmer and one for the refugium. I think the size and orientation of the baffle squiggles controls the flow through each chamber - the refugium is very slow and the skimmer is fast. The bubble trap's 2nd and 3rd walls do not have squiggles.

That's a Hurricone Cat 2 in there, and its micro-bubbles are not getting past the trap.
