STN on very large acro colony, what would you do?

Had this thing growing for several years from tiny frag, now from one area is stn.
Break it apart? Or let it be?

Tough call but you could make a good size frag out of the healthy side just in case. Strange location to stn...perhaps flow was limited due to the size/density in that spot?

actually i think opposite hapened, that portion was actually being hammerd with flow

Maybe just monitor it and see if it spreads for now. A frag from the healthy side is advisable though. That way you have a backup

I’d put it through a saw and cut the large colonies off about a inch away from the stn and glue them back together close on a rock… if you decide to leave it it’s just gonna grow algae in the middle and never recover:
