Stock List Advice:

I would like some input on my stock list for my new 150 gallon mixed reef tank. It will have a refugium, roller filter mat, and skimmer in the sump. I was curious which fish you would buy first and which you would buy last. I plan on doing it gradually over maybe 6 months to a year.

Invertebrates:

Trochus Snails maybe 4

Cleaner Shrimp pair

Red Serpent Star

Porcelain Crab pair

Fish:

Clownfish Pair (already have them)

Purple Tang

Hippo Tang

Foxface Rabbitfish

Mandarin (will get pods going first)

Flame Angel

Royal Gramma

Male Lyretail Anthia

Yellow Coris Wrasse

Lawnmower Blenny

Diamond Spotted Goby

You’re on the right track with taking your time. General “guidelines” for adding fish order is least aggressive first with the most aggressive fish on the list going in last

For the inverts I would just add them at the start minus the starfish I would wait maybe 6 months too add them

I personally would actually get more CUC then you have because 4 snails and 4 shrimp/crabs and the 2 stars is very much on the small side in terms of CUC. Although the tangs and blenny may help with that, I would just add like 10-20 more snails.

I would add the fish in 3 or 4 groups that is how I typically go about it so I would suggest:

Already Have: 2 Clownfish
Group 1 (Add First): Diamond Spot Goby, Lawnmower Blenny, Royal Gramma
Group 2: Lyretail Anthias, Yellow Coris Wrasse, Mandarin (If pods are ready you could also add last)
Group 3: Foxface Rabbitfish
Group 4: Flame Angel, Blue Tang, Purple Tang

Good luck that's a nice sized tank!! :)
